National Defence Academy (NDA)
Exam is organized by UPSC, twice in a year. The main aim of the UPSC to conduct
these examinations is to recruit the eligible and hard working aspirants
against the vacant posts in Indian Defense Forces. Thereby the aspirants who wants to make their
career in the Indian Defense Forces such as Indian Army, Indian Navy and Air
Force via NDA Exams, must check out the eligibility criteria for the
examination.
Nationality
- In order to give the exam for NDA, candidate must be:
- Indian Citizen or subject to Nepal or Bhutan.
- Candidate must be, Tibetan refugees that had migrated to India before 1st January, 1962 and today they are permanent resident of India.
- Applying aspirants must be of Indian origin that has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, and United Republic of Tanzania etc with the intention of permanently resident of India.
- Note that eligibility certificate is not required is necessary if a candidate belongs to Gorkha category with subject to Nepal.
Educational Qualification
Candidates, who wish to apply for
the Indian Army, must have completed 12th or its equivalent exam from a
well-recognized board. Whereas the aspirants who wish to apply for Indian Navy
and Air Force, must have passed their 12th/appearing from a recognized board or
University with Physics and Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
Note that candidates who are
pursuing 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent
examination are also eligible to apply.
Age limit
As per the rule of the UPSC
candidates who wants to give the NDA examination, must have minimum age of 16.5
years and maximum age of 19.5 years. Note that only those aspirants are
eligible to apply for the NDA Exam, who is not born before 2nd day in the month
of July in the year 1998 and not after 1st Day of January in the year 2001 and
no reservation will be allotted to any of the category aspirants.
Marital Status and Gender
The marital status of the
applying aspirants must be unmarried if the candidates wants to appear for the
NDA Exam and the applying candidate must be a Male candidate.
Selection Process
- The first step of the selection process of NDA starts with the written examination which is conducted by the Union Public service Commission (UPSC) and the aspirants who qualify the written exam will be promoted to the next level.
- In the next level, candidates have to go through the Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence/ Personality test which are conducted by Service Selection Board (SSB). This exam includes two stages. The candidates, who complete both of these stages, will have to submit their all original and photocopies of documents/ certificates.
- Finally candidates who scored the qualifying marks according to the applied stream such as Army/ Navy and Naval Academy/Air force, will be selected for the on the basis of the merit list.
